Music Psychology
Our research into the psychology of music falls into two main categories: the emotions evoked by music and musical ability. We have developed testing instruments such as the PROMS, which assesses music perception skills, and the GEMS, which is a taxonomy that enables music-evoked emotions to be accurately classified and measured. Personality Development
Our research in this area focuses on early childhood predictors of personality development. A target of this line of research is the identification of temperament risk factors –early appearing biobehavioral patterns that tend to foreshadow attention, anxiety, and conduct problems.
