MUSEMAP

Music Emotion Assessment and Personality Lab

At the Music, Emotion, Assessment, and Personality Lab we examine personality and emotion across a variety of domains, notably personality development, close relationships, and musical-aesthetic experiences. The lab is part of the Department of Psychology, University of Innsbruck.

It is located on its premises at Universitätsstraße 5-7 (Grauer Bär). We use surveys, experiments, longitudinal methods, and also develop new methods such as tools for assessing music-evoked emotions (GEMS), musical ability (PROMS), and child temperament risk factors (ICTI).

Our recent projects include an analysis of relationship satisfaction during the COVID-19 pandemic, musical mood congruency effects, a new database of emotion-rated songs (EMMA), and an interdisciplinary collaboration on music recommender systems.
